A stand on the counter catches customers who are in front of you. Plenty of customers never are: they pay online, receive a delivery, or deal with you by email. Your review link can reach them too, as long as you put it where they already look.
First, get the right link
Everything below uses the same link, the one that opens the review box on your Google listing. If you do not have it handy, see how to find your Google review link.
1. Your email signature
Every email you send carries it, which makes it the lowest effort placement there is. Keep it small: one line, “Happy with our service? Leave us a Google review”. Madexify has a free email signature generator if yours needs a tidy up.
2. Invoices
The invoice is the one message every customer opens. A line at the bottom works well for trades and services. See review cards for tradies.
3. Receipts
Many point of sale systems let you add a line or a QR code to printed and emailed receipts. It is quiet and permanent.
4. Order confirmation and delivery emails
For online orders, the delivery confirmation is the right moment, not the order confirmation, because the customer has not received anything yet. If you send these, check the Spam Act rules in asking for reviews by email and SMS.
5. Your website
A small “Review us on Google” link in the footer or on your contact page helps loyal customers who go looking. See adding a review button to your website.
6. Social media bios
A link in your Instagram or Facebook bio reaches followers who already like you. It works best when you occasionally mention it in a post.
7. A QR code on packaging or takeaway bags
For product and food businesses, a small code on a sticker or bag reaches customers at home, when they are enjoying what they bought.
Where not to put it
- On your quote. The customer has not experienced anything yet.
- In marketing emails to people who have never bought from you.
- Anywhere next to an offer or discount, which makes it look like an incentive.
