Evening service is different from a daytime cafe. The lights are low, the tables are full, people have had a drink, and the whole visit builds towards one moment: the bill. That changes where a review prompt belongs and how it gets used.
The bill is the moment
In a restaurant, the bill is the natural full stop. The meal is over, the table is relaxed, and someone is holding a phone to pay. A card tucked into the bill folder, or a small stand that arrives with the bill, gets seen by every table at exactly the right time.
It also avoids the most common mistake: a sign on the table all night, which feels like being asked for a rating before the main has arrived.
Low light and QR codes
Dim restaurants and bars are where QR codes struggle most. Phone cameras hunt for focus in low light, and glossy surfaces under warm downlights throw glare. This is where NFC earns its place: a tap needs no light at all. Every stand and card we make carries both, so the tap covers the dim tables and the QR covers phones that do not read NFC. There is more in NFC or QR: which one your customers actually use.
Bars and counters
In a bar, people order and pay at the counter, often more than once. A stand at the point of payment works well, especially during quieter hours. During a rush, it simply sits there, which costs nothing.
What staff say
Hope you enjoyed it. If you have a second, tapping that leaves us a Google review. It really helps.
Said once, when the bill lands, and never repeated to the same table.
Responsible service matters here
Do not push for reviews from customers who have clearly had too much to drink, and never tie a review to a free drink. Beyond Google’s ban on incentives, linking free alcohol to anything is a responsible service of alcohol problem. See asking for reviews without breaking the rules.
Bookings and follows
For restaurants that take bookings, a second tap point at the host stand linking to your booking page is often more useful than another review prompt. For daytime service, see Google reviews for cafes.
